Jared Picklyk, a goaltender for the Humboldt Broncos, has been suspended indefinitely by the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). This decision comes after Picklyk was arrested early on Saturday morning, about two hours after his team had eliminated the Nipawin Hawks from the SJHL playoffs, in Humboldt.

According to reports from the local police, Picklyk was allegedly the driver of a pickup truck that veered off the road and collided with a home in Humboldt at around 1:25 AM. He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with refusal to comply with breath screening. The SJHL is currently investigating the incident, according to league commissioner Kyle McIntyre, who spoke to CTV News.

"The league is presently investigating these allegations and will take appropriate action once our investigation is complete."

Following this announcement, the SJHL suspended Picklyk indefinitely until the investigation is complete. Picklyk had also previously played for the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League before joining Humboldt, where he helped the team to finish second in the SJHL regular season.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and Picklyk is set to appear in court on May 8th.
