Tonight the Philadelphia Flyers are in Vegas to take on the Golden Knights and are hoping to take advantage of all the Knights injuries and end this losing skid they've been on.
When they do though, they will be without one of their best offensive players who is currently 4th on the team in scoring.
John Tortorella announced this morning that Tony Deangelo will be a healthy scratch for tonights game in favour of young Cam York who will be making his season debut.
DeAngelo signed with the Flyers in the offseason on a 2 year deal with an AAV of $5,000,000, after playing in Carolina Last season after putting up 10 goals and 51 points in 64 games.
Torts had this comment to make about why DeAngelo was a healthy scratch:
He was a rover and sometimes when you're a rover as a defenceman it's in the offensive zone; he was roving all over the place in the defensive zone and no one knew where he's really gonna go and check.
DeAngelo is known as an offensive defenceman and has never been known for his defence, this should not be exactly a shock for Torts, but when a team is lacking offence as much as the Flyers are, healthy scratching your 4th best point producer isn't the answer.
