BREAKING: NHL Hands Out A Suspension To Flames Defenseman Andersson
Andersson Suspended For Hit On Laine
Last night the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Calgary Flames 3-1 in what was a frustrating loss for the Flames. In the final seconds of the game, when the game was essentially over, Rasmus Andersson laid this horrendous hit on Patrik Laine, injuring Laine in the process.

Andersson catches Laine with a hit in the dying seconds of the game.
Today, NHL Player Safety met with Andersson and has decided to suspend him for these actions.
Calgary's Rasmus Andersson has been suspended for four games for Charging Columbus' Patrik Laine.
The NHL does not tolerate these kinds of hits so a suspension of this length makes sense. However, it is disappointing it was not longer given the nature of the hit and the time of the game it took place.
Both Andersson and Laine will now miss some time but it is likely that Laine will miss more time for the hit.
