Signing Long-Term in Colorado
Ross Colton and the Colorado Avalanche have struck a contract extension for the next four years, according to Elliotte Friedman.
The Cup-winning goal scorer in 2021 for the Tampa Bay Lightning has avoided arbitration with the Avs by inking an extension of four years with an AAV of $4 million.
This is a fairly big bet by the Avalanche, since the 26-year-old Colton has never scored more than 39 points a season in his NHL career. The New Jersey native was traded to the Avalanche in late June for a second-round pick during the lead-up to this year's Entry Draft.
