Shane Wright had been projected to be a player the calibre of Patrice Bergeron and during his first NHL season, he has never been quite given the opportunity to prove what he can do.
Wright had been a healthy scratch for 5 straight games and because he this, he was eligible to be sent to the American Hockey League for a ''conditioning stint''.
Wright is allowed to go to the AHL for 14 days and at the end of this stint he either needs to be brought back up to the NHL or be sent to the Ontario Hockey League.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Wright at the end of this conditioning stint as obviously the Seattle Kraken's head coach has no interest in playing the young top prospect, but General Manager Ron Francis wants to keep him on the team.
For a team like the Kraken who are obviously not a cup contender at this time, it seems like an easy decision to play the player who is the future of the franchise and let him grow with the team, but if the coach does not intend to play him, he needs to be sent back to juniors as soon as possible.
