It was going viral all over social media yesterday that a player from a Russian hockey league violently assaulted a referee by two-hand swinging his stick at him and proceeding to kick him with his skate after.
It was released earlier today that the referee suffered broken ribs, jaw, facial bone.
Today the league announced that there is an ongoing criminal investigation and also they they will be giving him a lifetime ban.
We have not found out that this is not the first time it has happened either, this player has apparently received another life time ban for assaulting a referee in another league.
