One player kicked his opponent in the face with his skate blade, which he is very lucky more significant injuries did not occur.
@heatdaddy69420 how many games (or years) would you suspend this guy? pic.twitter.com/9v9mirDNtc Mark Larsen (@marklarsen91) August 4, 2022
The player who committed the kick has been suspended for life by the Adult SAFE Hockey League.
In case anyone was looking for an update on this incident, the @theASHL has banned Brandon Gee-Moore for life. Good call. https://t.co/AcdrfFxzHN Dave_VFX (@PucksOnDave) August 9, 2022
The RCMP have also gotten involved with an investigation for assault, following the kick on July 29th. They are still in the process of speaking with players who witnessed the act, so most likely there will be charges pressed to some degree.
You may have a seen a video flying around WhatsApp or on Reddit of a Burnaby beer leaguer kicking an opponent in the face with his skate. I've looked into it. Player has been suspended and cops are looking into it https://t.co/ZsvCrYoN5l Patrick Johnston (@risingaction) August 4, 2022
No one in beer league is making the National Hockey League. There is no reason ever for this type of act of violence.
