Penguins Make Surprising Decision on Plasek
Karel Plasek joined the Pens yesterday in a trade that sent Mark Friedman and Ty Glover to Vancouver in return for Jack Rathbone and Plasek.
"The Penguins have acquired defenseman Jack Rathbone and forward Karel Plasek from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Mark Friedman and Ty Glover."
The Penguins have already decided to place him on waivers with the intention of terminating his contract.

Plasek, 23, played most of his career in Czechia, his homeland. He played a few games with the Abbotsford Canucks but never made it to the NHL.
