After the incident, Lemieux received a minor penalty for roughing, and rookie Tye Kartye dropped the gloves against him.
"Some leadership from the rookie. After scoring his first NHL goal, Tye Kartye stands up for his teammate and makes Brendan Lemieux answer for his hit on Jared McCann."
Consequences Incoming for Lemieux After Scary Hit on McCann?
The fact that he only received a two-minute penalty means that the refs didn't consider the hit to be to the head, and therefore, no suspensions should come.
However, Lemieux has been suspended many times due to dangerous hits. As a repeat offender, he could be punished by the NHL.
