Connor Bedard has been regarded as someone who loves hockey. He loves watching, playing and just being around hockey. Now he is set to face off against a player that many have compared him to throughout the draft process Auston Matthews.
Of course, both players are known for their elite shots and both were selected first overall in their respective drafts. Now Bedard has made some interesting comments on Auston Matthews and his influence on Bedard's game growing up.
"He's someone that I feel like pioneered a certain shot. He's got 6 [goals] in 2 [games], so he's doing something right. Ever since he came into the league, he's been someone I've loved to watch...so I'm excited to go against him."
Bedard commented on how excited he is to finally get to play against Matthews. Both players have been the driving force behind their teams' success this season so far.

After his win against Sidney Crosby in his NHL debut Bedard is now facing another first overall pick sensation. Both players have been sensational this season and will be key contributors in the final score of the upcoming game.
