Fans are finally starting to calm down from the shock many received at the 2022 NHL Entry draft when the Montreal Canadiens shocked the hockey world by passing on projected first overall pick center Shane Wright and instead opting to go with Slovakian winger Juraj Slafkovsky.
Slafkovsky really broke out in his draft year and really shot up the draft rankings when he scored 7 goals in 7 games playing against men at the Olympics.
The 6'04" 230lb winger believes he is going to be the perfect fit to play alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield going forward, but apparently ESPN doesn't believe he will produce like a top line winger.
According to ESPN, Slafkovsky will get into only 62 games next season, and score 10 goals and 24 points. This would be an absolutely heart-breaking year for a first overall pick and Habs fans. Especially if Shane Wright goes on to dominate in his rookie season.
