It what seemed like it was going to be a dream season for Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, ended in heartbreak as they were swept by the Colorado Avalanche in 4 games in the Western Conference Finals.
Today the Oilers did announce some good news though. Interim head coach Jay Woodcroft will be removing the interim tag from his shirt and replacing it with just head coach as the Oilers signed him for three years.
Woodcroft took over with 38 games left in the season and went 26-9-3, which would result in 118 points if calculated over a full season. He also led the Oilers to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in over a decade.
The Edmonton Oilers have a lot of question marks to deal with this offseason, but one thing is for certain, the captain that is going to lead the ship in the right direction is signed and ready to go.
