Last night we saw a trade take place between the Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames, that could easily be one of the biggest blockbusters in history.
Two 100-point plus players were swapped in a mega deal that it does not seem fans are too happy with. The Flames received Jonathan Huberdeau, MacKenzie Weegar, prospect Cole Schwindt and Florida's lottery-protected first-round selection in the 2025 draft. In exchange the Florida Panthers received Matthew Tkachuk and a conditional fourth-round draft pick.
As always there are winners and losers to every trade and sometimes it takes a year or two to see who won, but from the mere look of this one, the Calgary Flames ran away with a huge win, and Florida fans are pissed.
Then we have Calgary Flames fans who absolutely are ecstatic with the trade.
This was a big win that Calgary needed. After losing Gaudreau and Tkachuk requesting a trade, things were not looking good for the Flames nor their fans. This will definitely brighten the spirits of the team and fanbase.
