Today the Columbus Blue Jackets signed Patrik Laine to a sizeable deal, which put them over the cap limit.
Unfortuantely for the Jackets, this meant they needed to trade someone away to get under the cap.
We have just learned that the Columbus Blue Jackets have made a deal with the Seattle Kraken:
The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a 2023 third round selection and 2023 fourth round pick from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for R Oliver Bjorkstrand. Bjrokstrand has been a life long Jacket, originally drafted by them back in 2013. This is the second time in 2 years that the Jackets have traded away a player that actually enjoyed being in Columbus.
