The Windsor, Ontario native signed with HC Sparta in the Czech Pro League today. The 33-year-old most recently played in the NHL last season with the Arizona Coyotes where he scored just 2 goals in 51 games.

Czech league @HCSpartaPraha introduce signing of Zach Kassian during their league game vs. Třinec today. Kassian is not dressed for the game.

Kassian is a hardened NHL veteran with over 600 games of experience. Since being drafted 13th overall in 2009 he has played in 661 NHL games, putting up 92 goals and 203 points in the process. Most of his time came with the Edmonton Oilers, where he played 412 of his games.

Kassian will not be eligible to return to the NHL this season with the new deal. However, as it is just a one-year contract, he could potential be gearing up for an attempt to return to the league next season.
