The 2024 World Juniors was an eventful one, and after a dominant tournament, it was the USA that came away with an impressive Gold Medal victory.
Wild Scenes to end the tournament
The USA led this Gold Medal game throughout, taking a 6-2 lead into the final minute of the game, and that's when chaos ensued.
Even with the game out of reach for Team Sweden, things got physical as the final seconds ticked off the clock, with several players coming to blows at center ice.
Several unnecessary ejections in the final minute
For their roles in the scuffle, Lane Hutson, Rutger McGroarty, Anton Johansson and Noah Ostlund were all given game misconducts and ejected, souring a dominant tournament from the United States.
Ultimately, it didn't sour too much of the celebrations for the US team, as they worked hard throughout and deserved the Gold Medal, but with the game out of hand as the final seconds ticked off the clock, this was just a very unnecessary way to end what was another fantastic tournament.
