If anyone ever thought the battle of Alberta between Edmonton and Calgary wasn't alive and well, just watch Mikael Backlund take a run at McDavid and catching him with a high shoulder to the face, when the puck is no where near McDavid.
The Oilers were entering the zone and not only did McDavid not touch the puck, but he was no where near it and Backlund skated by him catching him with a high shoulder hit.
Evander Kane and Leon Draisaitl were not fans of this hit and went after Backlund.
The results of this game were not in McDavid and the Oilers favour, losing 9-5 to the Flames, but will they get the last laugh with a possible suspension coming for Backlund?
