Milan Lucic had a lackluster regular season with the Calgary Flames, who disappointingly missed the Stanley Cup playoffs. The team faced numerous distractions, underperforming expectations considerably.

Lucic Rejuvenated After Winning Gold With Canada

However, this setback proved to be a blessing in disguise for Lucic, who received the opportunity to represent Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships. He contributed significantly to the team's gold medal victory over Germany in the final game last week.

Lucic Wants To Retun Home

Now that the World Hockey Championships have concluded, Lucic is on the brink of becoming an unrestricted free agent (UFA). During his transition into free agency, he hinted at his preferred destination for the upcoming season.

Lucic shared his thoughts in an interview with Donnie & Dhali on CHEK. Expressing his fondness for his hometown, he indicated that he would love to play for the Vancouver Canucks.

In response to the possibility of becoming a UFA on July 1st and having interest in Vancouver, Lucic stated, "It is every hometown boy's dream to play for the hometown team. We will see what happens if they call."

The prospect of Lucic playing for Vancouver is genuinely exciting. His presence would undoubtedly be beneficial, offering younger Canucks players a wealth of experience and guidance. However, the final decision rests with Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin. We will just have to patiently wait to see what he thinks of this idea.
