The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta has stirred up some frustration among NHL fans with a recent tweet where they shared this photo:
"This is $20 worth of food at MBS!"
Over the years, there have been numerous grievances about the steep prices of food during hockey games. Paying $15 or even $20 for a beer and a hot dog is obviously seen as excessive.
Although these tweets are from the past, the prices have continued to rise and it doesn't like that's going to stop.
Is the NHL Really Overpriced?
It's important to note that the NFL boasts a larger fanbase compared to the NHL. The higher volume of purchases allows the NFL to maintain lower prices and still generate substantial revenue.
Although this whole conversation still raises the question: Should NHL teams consider reducing the costs of food at games?
