OFFICIAL: 2x Gold Medalist Rejects Team That Drafted Him
Back in 2021, the San Jose Sharks took a chance on Benjamin Gaudreau. Ranked decently high among scouting services, Gaudreau looked like a slam-dunk pick for the Sharks in the third round.
In his young career, he has backstopped Team Canada to two gold medals, one in the U-18 World Juniors and one in the U-20 World Juniors.
With this, Gaudreau will likely be picked up by an NHL team in the later rounds and sign him to join their AHL affiliate next year.
This past season he posted a .889 sv% and 3.07 GAA with the Sarnia Sting ranking him 20th among OHL goaltenders.
