After a humiliating first round exit to the underdog Florida Panthers, it seems as though the Bruins will be forced to move on from their most successful era this century.
There are reports that Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci will be retiring in the near future, bringing an end to the last members of their 2011 Stanley Cup team.
It has been reported that Bergeron and Krejci will be moving on from hockey soon.
Both of these players had stellar careers in Boston and should both have their jersey numbers retired sometime in the next few years.
Bergeron spent 19 years in the NHL, all with Boston, tallying 427 goals and 1040 points over 1294 games.
Bergeron has been Captain of the Bruins since January 2021
David Krejci was a Bruin for the entirety of his 16-year NHL career, and he put up 231 goals and 786 points in 1032 NHL games.
The Bruins will have a tough time replacing the tow of them, as they have less than $5 million in cap space this offseason due to performance bonus overages.
This will be an extremely important offseason in Boston if they want to continue on a path to the Stanley Cup.
