Jack Campbell was drafted 11th overall back in 2010 by the Dallas Stars, and back then he was the top goaltender available and thought to be the best goalie not currently in the National Hockey League.
Unfortunately for him though, he NHL career took awhile to get going as he bounced between the ECHL and AHL for a few years before finally getting a full time job in the NHL with the LA Kings in the 2018-19 season.
After putting up some good season in LA, he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs were he stole the starting role from Frederick Anderson. But after just one season as the undisputed starter in Toronto, they let him walk in free agency and he ended up signing a 5 year deal with the Edmonton Oilers with an AAV of $5,000,000.
Many believed that Campbell was finally the starting goalie the Oilers have needed for years but since arriving in Edmonton, he has been anything but. In 10 games so far this season he has a .873 save percentage and 4.27 goals against average, but somehow still has a winning record of 6-4-0 thanks to the Oilers offence.
Sadly though, even with a winning record, Edmonton Oilers fans are not happy with Campbell on the team anymore.
