Saturday night when the Boston Bruins hosted the Buffalo Sabres, we saw what looked like Patrice Bergeron grabbing Tage Thompson at the faceoff dot, but no one knew why.
Today, the reporters ask Thompson about the situation with Bergeron and Thompson told them that Bergeron was just asking about how his wife was doing.
Normally, this is when you would be thinking that Bergeron was making some sort of chirp, but the truth is, Thompson's wife underwent surgery in January of 2019 to remove a cancerous mass from her leg and Bergeron was showing genuine concern for her.
We live in a world that has a lot of issues going on currently, but it's great to see that there is still some kindness left in it:
"It's big, Obviously, he didn't have to say anything. He kind of went out of his way to check on her and ask how she's doing. It's just the kind of guy he is. He's just a genuine guy, cares about other people."
Tage told The Buffalo News following practice Monday. "
