Recently, insider Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com revealed that the Boston Bruins have been pursuing Pavel Buchnevich of the St. Louis Blues heavily.
Buchnevich would certainly be a big catch for the Bruins as he has produced above a point-per-game rate ever since being traded to the Blues in the summer of 2021.
Last season, Buchnevich scored 26 goals and 67 points in 63 games (34-goal/87-point pace). He is currently entering the second to last year of his deal which carries a $5.8 million cap hit so whomever he goes to if traded will have some contract control.
Players like Buchnevich don't always hit the trade market so there will be many assets who could be going back to the Blues if they decide to trade him.
This trade would give the Bruins a top-notch goal scorer while the Blues would get a solid defenseman in Carlo, a top prospect in Lysell, and a pick that they can use whichever way they want.
