After the return of their controversial Head Coach, this team is refusing to participate in any games or practices moving forward.

Western University Women's Hockey Team Refuses to Play

Western University's Women's Hockey team has officially announced that they will not be participating in their upcoming game or practices after the administration decided their controversial coach, Candace Moxley, could return to the bench. Moxley, as well as team trainer Jeff Watson, was under investigation by the school for forcing players to play through injury.

The players believe that Moxely was wrongly re-instated, and that she should have been fired. Watson was let go as a result of the investigation.

Multiple players have made allegations of improper conduct against head coach Candice Moxley and Western's strength and conditioning coach Jeff Watson.

Players Issued Letters in Response to Lack of Punishment for Moxley

The players of the team issued a letter in response to the lack of punishment for their Coach. Many explained how they believe the investigation was not completed fairly, as the lawyer was a member of the University board and a previous professor at Western.

"We do not believe that the investigation was fair, unbiased and transparent. We had an expectation that Western University would believe us, the survivors of psychological abuse we faced from coach Moxley."

"By allowing coach Moxley to return, the university has shown blatant disregard for the health and well-being of traumatized students"
