A recent interview with Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin has revealed that legendary goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury could be nearing the end of his tenure in Minnesota.

Wild Not Ready To Part With Fleury Just Yet

A recent interview with Bill Guerin brought up the topic of Marc-Andre Fleury. Guerin was asked if he believes that Fleury will be traded this season as the trade deadline approaches. Guerin says those conversations have not yet been had.

"It's just too early for that, and I'm not ready, and I'm sure 'Flower' isn't ready, to have that conversation, either," Guerin said.

Even though the conversation has not happened yet it will need to soon. The conclusion of All-Star weekend is usually the time when teams tend to decide the future of players heading into the trade deadline. Even with no decision made one NHL insider believes that Fleury would have a preferred outcome.

NHL Insider Predicts What Is Next For Fleury And The Wild

After speaking with Guerin recently NHL insider Pierre LeBrun believes he has a good sense of where the situation will go. LeBrun seems to hint that Alan Walsh Fleury's agent will be a big factor in the decision.

"Fleury has to have that discussion in the next couple weeks with his agent, Allen Walsh," LeBrun said. "They have a full no-move (clause) and it's up to Walsh and Fleury if he goes anywhere before the Deadline, we don't know the answer to that yet.

If Fleury does decide he wants to leave Minnesota for a new home LeBrun suggested some teams that could be a good fit.

But there are some obvious teams to think about. Toronto tried to trade for him two years ago - different GM, but nevertheless, the Leafs still have question marks in net. Edmonton, how about a mentor for Stuart Skinner? New Jersey, they haven't had saves all year. Carolina, how about a mentor to (Pyotr) Kochetkov?"

Toronto, Carolina, Edmonton, and New Jersey all are mentioned by LeBrun. All are contending teams with major goaltending issues. His new destination will come down to where Fleury wants to end up and if there are multiple acceptable options to Fleury who will pay the most.
