BREAKING: Time And Date Set For Morgan Rielly's In-Person Hearing With League Office
Morgan Rielly crossed the line yesterday at the end of the Leafs game against Ottawa. He cross checked Senators forward Ridley Greig in the face, earning him a call from the Department of Player Safety.
Time And Place Set For Reilly's In-Person Hearing
The league announced today that the defenseman will have an in-person hearing with the league office on Tuesday, February 13th during the afternoon.
Rielly's in-person hearing will be held Tuesday afternoon at the NHL's New York office.
This announcement comes after the Department of Player Safety announced that the 29-year-old defensemen would get an in-person hearing for the offense following the game yesterday. Typically, hearings are done over the phone unless the incident was particularly egregious.
The In-person hearing gives the league the option to suspend Rielly for more than five games, the maximum allowable for an over-the-phone hearing. As a result, many now believe that Rielly in in store for one of, if not the longest suspension of the season.
Be sure to stay tuned to see how many games the veteran blueliner will get come Tuesday.
