We are coming to an end of an era in the National Hockey League. Some of the players that a lot of us grew up watching are starting to retire, and the teams that we've known as dominant for the last two decades are now missing the playoffs.
When you think of goalies who just seem to have been around forever, you cant help but think of Craig Anderson.
Anderson was drafted twice, once by the Calgary Flames in 1999, but after failing to come to terms on a contract, Anderson was then drafted again by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2001, making his professional debut in the 2002-03 season.
20 years, 8 teams, and 709 National Hockey League games later, at the age of 41, Craig Anderson played in his final NHL game last night.
Anderson has meant a lot to the NHL and was the backbone of the Ottawa Senators for many years, so it was perfect timing that his final game be against the Senators.
After the game, both teams took the opportunity to individually congratulate Anderson on an amazing career.
