Last night the Tampa Bay Lightning were playing against the Boston Bruins and the Bruins controversial announcer made a comment that many have been considering as body shaming, bullying and very insensitive:
Listed at 238 pounds. That was Day One of training camp and I have got a feeling he's had a few more pizzas before then and now. Inadvertent fasting for Pat Maroon is like going four hours without a meal, But hey three Cups in a row who can argue with his formula?
Some people have been defending Edwards and just laughing off the comments, but some people have been taking great offence to his comments, and today Pat Maroon responded:
In support of those struggling with mental health, bullying and body image I am making a 2,000 donation in the name of @realjackedwards to @TampaBayThrives and I encourage @TBLightning and @NHL fans to join me. Donate here: Tampabaylightning.com/donate
While guaranteed Maroon wasn't bothered by Edwards comments at all, it's great to see him turn a bad situation into something very good for others.
