Phil Kessel last played in the NHL back in 2022/23 with the Vegas Golden Knights, and after a string of PTO's this week, interest in his name could be rising.

In the past 24 hours, we've seen no less than five players in the NHL sign professional tryout deals for training camp, with the likes of Kailer Yamamoto, Max Pacioretty and Pierre-Eduord Bellmare among them.

Unsurprisingly, there's also interest in several remaining veterans such as James Van Riemsdyk, but with this string of moves, it prompted Paul Bissonette, the host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast to throw another interesting name out there.

In a post on X, Bissonette urged an NHL team to consider signing Phil 'The Thrill' Kessel to a PTO, as the 36-year old forward reportedly wants to continue playing in the NHL. At this point, he holds the iron-man streak of an incredible 1,064 straight regular season games played, and after netting 14 goals and 36 points in that campaign with Vegas, he can clearly still get it done.

Last season, we saw interest from the Vancouver Canucks, but nothing came to fruition, but given his Stanley Cup winning experience and ability to score goals, if he wants to return to the NHL, a team will likely look to give him a shot this season.
