Yesterday, Timo Meier was ejected from the games against the Nashville Predators for a dirty cross-check on Zachary L'Heureux.
With less than 10 minutes left in the game, L'Heureux hit Meier after the whistle, and the Devils player retaliated with a much bigger blow to his opponent's face.

Meier received a five-minute penalty, and the Devils managed to hold their 4-2 lead against the Predators' powerplay, before scoring the assurance goal in an empty net.

This morning, an official statement revealed that Timo Meier will have a hearing today in front of the NHL's Department of Player Safety:
Now, in a new development, the DoPS revealed their verdict on Meier.
They decided to suspend him for one game:
Upon watching the replay, it seems obvious that Meier attempted to injure L'Heureux.
Even if the Predators' rookie dealt the first blow, Meier's retaliation was exaggerated.
The 28-year-old Devils veteran played 565 games in the NHL since being drafted by the San Jose Sharks nearly 10 years ago.
As for L'Heureux, the 21-year-old rookie took part in his 17th NHL game last night. As of now, he has five points, including two goals in Nashville this season.
A status update on L'Heureux is expected to be released by the organization soon, likely ahead of their next game, tomorrow, against the Philadelphia Flyers.
